Green Line

Management

Green Line is being developed by the New England Independent Transmission Company, LLC (NEITC). NEITC’s team is led by Edward N. Krapels and Edward M. Stern. Both have extensive experience in the electric power industry and with the development of independent electric transmission projects and renewable energy projects. Mr. Krapels was intimately involved in the planning and development of the Neptune Line, a 660 MW underwater HVDC transmission line between New Jersey and Long Island, New York, completed in 2007. Mr. Stern is the CEO of the Neptune Regional Transmission System. Mr. Krapels and Mr. Stern are also principals of the Hudson Transmission project, a 660 MW HVDC system link between New Jersey and New York City that is currently under construction .

Industry News

China has begun construction on the world’s largest capacity transmission line. The 800kV high voltage direct current line began on May 13, 2012.  The HVDC line is 1,400 miles long and will carry up to 8,000 megawatts of power.  (Read more…)
