Green Line

Management

Green Line is being developed by the New England Independent Transmission Company, LLC (NEITC). NEITC’s team is led by Edward N. Krapels and Edward M. Stern. Both have extensive experience in the electric power industry and with the development of independent electric transmission projects and renewable energy projects. Mr. Krapels was intimately involved in the planning and development of the Neptune Line, a 660 MW underwater HVDC transmission line between New Jersey and Long Island, New York, completed in 2007. Mr. Stern is the CEO of the Neptune Regional Transmission System. Mr. Krapels and Mr. Stern are also principals of the Hudson Transmission project, a 660 MW HVDC system link between New Jersey and New York City, selected by the New York Power Authority, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2009.

Industry News

NEITC and ISO-NE jointly submitted their Operating Agreement to FERC on January 22, 2010. The Operating Agreement (OA) concludes a three year process that included extensive open stakeholder meetings. In a February 2007 declaratory order, FERC found NEITC to be independent and capable of serving as an independent transmission company as described under Attachment M of the ISO-NE’s open access tariff. NEITC and ISO-NE have requested that FERC approve the NEITC Operating Agreement by March 23, 2010. View the filing here.
